Hope On The Move
It’s time for us now to find new ways of bringing hope to our communities and giving our young people opportunities to get involved making a positive difference.
For years, churches and community groups have been successfully having a summer week of youth and community work. Typical summer weeks included practical work, sports, kids clubs and often ending the week with a celebrations like a community BBQ or Family Fun Day. Now because we have restricted gathering and social conditions, this means we need to rethink how we get involved with our communities.
We have seen amazing community efforts during the Covid lockdown period; things like groups serving meals, delivering groceries, food parcels and medication, Baby Banks and Foodbanks inundated with referrals. Even though we have been restricted from our regular community programs, our communities have shown that there is a heart and determination to care for each other under difficult circumstances.
Hope is always on the move.
The essence of StreetReach is to see young people feel empowered to create positive change in their communities; to know that their passion and ability is valued and to know they are making a practical difference.
Over the next 6 months, we aim to enable over 60 young people to become Active Citizens and leaders in community change.
StreetReach can work alongside your group of 8 young people to identify, plan and deliver a meaningful contribution within your community over a 4 week project.
