StreetReach Has The Answer

Have you ever wondered whose job it is to fix up the community? Moaned about why the council isn't doing more? Or blamed local businesses for not doing enough to make the town more successful?

StreetReach has the answer…

We believe that we all have a part to play in making our communities better places to live, work and play in. Yes of course the council, businesses and other institutions have responsibilities to help govern our towns but we, we, are the community and we have lots to give.

We love connecting with our community and the conversations we are having with local people in everyday jobs who are deliberately having a positive influence on young people is the most encouraging demonstration of hope on the move.

One of the sessions in our Active Citizenship program explores the concept of young people having a role to play in the community; we look at what we think the community needs and who can help make that happen.

We bring the challenge that each of us have a voice but what are we going to do about it?

StreetReach is a collaboration between YMCA Ireland, Summer Madness and the Education Authority for the Carrickfergus, Larne and surrounding coastal areas.
