Creating Positive Change

The essence of StreetReach is to see young people feel empowered to create positive change in their communities; to know that their passion and ability is valued and to know they are making a practical difference.

This week we have been busy preparing the new StreetReach group program which explores what Active Citizenship is and our role in the community.

In just 4 weeks we can facilitate and guide young people into creating change in their own communities by taking time to explore what it takes to make change and how to do it effectively. The best part is that over the course of the first 3 sessions we will plan a community change project to take place on the last session – ending with pizza (obviously, 🤷🏽 cos youthwork).

On the last session we want to celebrate each young person’s input by giving them a Participation Pack containing one of the new StreetReach tshirts, a StreetReach beanie and a certificate to mark their achievements. With half the group slots already taken we cannot encourage you enough to get your group booked in!

We’ll be previewing our new t-shirts and beanies on our social media next week so make sure to follow us to catch the first glimpse.

StreetReach is a collaboration between YMCA Ireland, Summer Madness and the Education Authority for the Carrickfergus, Larne and surrounding coastal areas.
